In-Home Services

Our comfort center is an extension of your home. However, we understand that some pets and some families prefer the experience of an in-home euthanasia.  Dr. Dawnetta began providing in-home services to the St. Louis area in 2012, and she is once again able to offer in-home visits.  These visits can be particularly helpful for pets who dislike a car ride, or who have too much pain to comfortably make a trip to our Comfort Center.

Our availability for in-home euthanasia visits is a bit more limited due to the additional time required for travel. Please know that we will make in-home visits as soon as our schedule allows.  When you reach out, one of our vet techs will go over the available times, and help you decide what kind of visit is best for you and your family.

Euthanasia Visit

$475: Includes a brief discussion with the veterinarian, a sedation cocktail (for pain control, anxiety relief, and anesthesia), and euthanasia. Also includes making a clay paw print, clipping a lock of fur, and a personalized but anonymous eulogy posted to Facebook (if you would like these keepsakes).

Hospice Visit

$475: Includes an examination by the doctor, a thorough discussion about quality of life, and what to expect as your pet’s disease progresses. If indicated, our veterinarian may also prescribe medications to keep your pet comfortable. You will also receive an email summary of the visit, sent to you and your regular veterinarian.

Travel Fees

Travel is included for areas shown on our map below.  For in-home visits in our extended area, an additional $50 travel fee will apply.

Aftercare Pricing

If you would like us to help with your pet’s aftercare, we will wrap them in a blanket and respectfully keep them with us. Our crematory partner will arrange either private or communal cremation (depending on your wishes). With Communal Cremation, ashes are not returned to you – they are scattered at a pond in the country, on the crematory’s property. With Private Cremation, your pet is cremated alone, and their ashes are returned to you in a cherry wooden box.
